The renewal of 2023 certifications for pressure equipment production in international markets
We take the opportunity of the start of a new year to talk about the renewal of 2023 certifications for pressure equipment production in international markets.
In general, all Baglioni Group products are designed and manufactured in accordance with major international standards.
Today we will focus, in particular, on three certifications:
- SELO
- ASME
- ISO 9001
Renewal of certifications 2023: SELO for the production of pressure equipment in the Chinese market
One of the goals we want to achieve in 2023 is the renewal of SELO(China Special Equipment Licensing Office) certification.
This certification allows us to produce and export our pressure equipment solutions-such as pressure tanks-to the Chinese market.
It also qualifies Baglioni Group as an Italian manufacturer, within the Chinese market.
In fact, the SELO license authorizes a company to sell its products in China and specifically, it refers to the following solutions:
- pressure vessels
- boilers
- safety devices
- gas cylinders
It also investigates the quality of infrastructure and products delivered, staff skills, and business process management.
As for the Baglioni Group, the renewal of SELO certification involves two of our divisions:
- Astra Refrigerants – Oil&Gas
- Astra Refrigerants – SPV

Both divisions have completed preliminary activities related to SELO certification.
Most notably, they have already filled out the “Application” form and sent the application to the relevant institution.
Finally, the second step that will allow us to obtain SELO certification renewal is the Audit , which is the inspection carried out by the appropriate body.
This inspection is expected to take place indicatively by July 2023.
The renewal of certifications 2023: ASME for the production of pressure equipment in the U.S. market
Another important milestone that the Baglioni Group wants to achieve in 2023 is the renewal of ASME(American Societyof Mechanical Engineers) certification.
The ASME certification body is known for creating the Boiler and Pressure Vessels Code.
This is a regulatory code that defines requirements for the design, material selection, construction and inspection of pressure products and components.
Renewal of ASME certification allows Baglioni Group to produce and export our pressure tanks to the U.S. market.
In particular, our goal is to obtain renewal for two of the ASME certification categories:
- ASME – U Stamp
- ASME – S Stamp
In this project we decided to involve all the Italian plants of the Baglioni Group:
- CSC in Terruggia and Ticineto (AL)
- Astra Refrigerants – Casalvolone (NO)
- Astra Refrigerants – COINOX (LE)
- Astra Refrigerants – Oil & Gas (NO)
- Astra Refrigerants – SPE (NO)

To date, all divisions have completed preliminary activities.

All that is missing at this point is the inspection visit by the inspection agency, which is scheduled for May 2023.
The renewal of certifications 2023: ISO 9001 for the production of pressure equipment
The third goal the Baglioni Group wants to achieve in 2023 is the renewal of ISO 9001(International Organizationfor Standardization) certification in all its factories.
This certificate is essential for organizations that pursue customer satisfaction, regarding the products and services provided, as well as continuous improvement in business performance.
ISO 9001 certification can be regarded as the cornerstone of the company’s quality management system.
As a result, the fulfillment of this standard is supported on a daily basis by all personnel of our company.
The Certification Audit, i.e., the inspection visit by the certification body, is scheduled for June 2023, and all major company departments will be involved.
